How to measure the various dimensions of a dog?

Measure the length from the ground to the highest point where the scapula meets the neck.

Body length. When measuring body length, dogs also need to maintain a standing posture. Place one end of the tape measure at the base of the dog's tail. Measure along the spine of the back, all the way to the junction of the scapula and neck.

Chest and neck circumference. When choosing collars and chest bands, chest and neck circumference are particularly important, and they are not suitable if they are too large or too small. Chest circumference: Use a tape measure to wrap around the widest part of the dog's chest. Neck circumference: Use a soft tape to wrap around the collarbone area in front of the dog's neck and front legs, as well as the scapula area on the back, equivalent to the "collar" position of the clothing. When measuring, do not pull the tape measure too tightly to ensure that one or two fingers can be easily inserted. When selecting relevant supplies, it is advisable to increase them by 3-5 centimeters to avoid being too tight. It is recommended to choose collars or clothing with adjustable sizes for more flexible use.

Don't force: Try to measure easily and naturally, don't force the dog. Choose the happiest time for the dog, such as feeding, to distract its attention. You can also apply some snacks on the wall to let the dog focus on licking. Post exercise measurement: After exercise, dogs consume more physical energy and are at their quietest time of the day, making it easier to cooperate with measurements. Soft ruler substitute: If there is no soft ruler, a rope can be used as a substitute. Mark the length of each part and measure it with a ruler.
